Mish has a couple recent interview clips up... at least publicly Sandy is saying he wants to be here so he thinks an agreement is coming. and I think Jeter looks aggravated in the clips, if Sherman is giving him a hard time I'm starting to wonder if Jeter is having some of the same frustrations we are. Jeter might want to raise payroll but may be having a hard time convincing Sherman to do it. Just a thought.

Yep, Jeter gets a lot of the blame because he's the spokesperson basically and the public face of the front office. But, in the end Sherman's going to control the payroll since he's the one that actually has to spend the money.

Not questioning your take on it, I agree he looked aggravated, but the questions asked (at least the couple clips I saw) weren't related to spending or FAs.  One was asking about Correa's comments on Jeter's gold gloves, and the other about Ng's performance....which he mentioned it being her first year that comes with a learning curve.

But you could be right.

I think your cat is (also?) waiting for you to clean the counter.

Yea, I was going off the end of the Ng response and he said we all need to get better, I thought that was a general take on the whole organization and the fact that concrete results have yet to arrive at the MLB level. Jeter's a prideful guy, even with all the ripping we do of him he probably hates that he isn't seen as a success at this job yet. He probably feels like he's done a lot but knows he has virtually nothing to brag about yet and he probably hates that. I wonder how anxious he's getting now.

Sandy Leon signed a minor league deal with the Guardians, so he's gone for now.

Well hopefully he channels that anxiousness/pride into making significant moves.  Getting the Sandy extension done is a good first step, but just that.

I was shocked to read that, yeah.

That's why you would never have enough pitching and why I'm rather this team to sign FAs to address the needs and not to trade the pitchers.

I'm not entirely shocked.  He was known for conditioning issues for years before we acquired him, and they've continued.  Unless it's something injury related again.  Regardless, I haven't been counting on Sixto for a while.

No I meant more that I was shocked that he just bluntly said “forget him” 😂

Maybe it's why Mish is relatively quiet in this off-season.

He got burned overhyping the trade deadline. Learned his lesson I guess. Can't fault him for deals falling through but obviously it hurts his credibility even if it's not really his fault.

We’ll probably learn more soon enough, but I think Craig is hinting at view Sixto as a luxury rather than penciling him in the starting 5 this year. It’s going to be up to Sixto how he handles his rehab and getting that arm ready for 175 IP. There might be some doubt on his work ethic to do so.

Also couldve played a role in why they opted to trade for Luzardo rather than a prospect package

This was what I was thinking and hoping. A luxury/a secret weapon instead of a lost case.

Yeah I think for now, we should view the 2022 rotation as

Sandy

Rogers

Pablo

Cabrera

Luzardo

Sixto** would be a cherry on top if he chooses to attack his rehab. If not, so be it
