Maybe it was an abberation but I feel like he'd be one of those guys who would come here and be another albatross on the team.  Granted his bat would still be an upgrade over Rojas in theory barring some Avisail bad season but yeah. Sure, so get the other guys instead if there is a preference. FWIW Swanson is a good defender and has played at a 4+ WAR/600 PA pace for his last 1600 PA. He'll be 29 so he is a high floor, high ceiling guy and at least 4 prime years left. It's all price dependent TBH.  I'd prefer Correa. He's the one.

If his splits were more balanced then I'd give that WAR a little more credence. Marlins just need to be super careful who they pay a ton of money to and if they get stuck with someone making 25mil per but OPSing .680 that's not going to help them much. I honestly haven't gone and looked at Correa splits but he had success in both Houston and Minny so there's that at least.  Maybe Swanson did well in Miami on road games? It always felt like he hit us well but maybe it was just key hits. Haven't looked that close yet.

That's not a reason to not try though.  Wild Card is likely the only path we have......but crazy things can always happen.  Implosions happen.  Always not trying because other teams are better isn't a proper way to do it.

Agreed.  He'd be a good signing to a short-term deal, but he can't be the only move.  It needs to be one of several moves.
