I honestly don't see this because we're at the point where just nobody wants to come here even for more money. And remember Soler was like a spring training signing so we're not there yet.

This offense is so bad we're at the point where a lot of "no big deal" players would actually feel like an upgrade to the Marlins.

The fucked up thing is the pitching is so good that even a league average offense would put this team in a MUCH better position. And yet…they’ve done literally nothing…instead of opening the wallet a bit they’re going to deplete that pitching in trades and create basically a lateral move kind of situation.

Which FA you think would coming first ? Drury ? Conforto ?

Sherman is not only cheap but also stupid, he should keep Jeter, yeah Jeter not a good front office people but he's a legend and the idol of many players so it would helping a lot in the FA pursuit.

The pitching is very good, but after Sandy there are TONS of question marks. Assuming we trade Pablo, we're left with a bunch of guys with plenty of upside but very little proven success.

Its coming now? Around the holidays? Nah. Sherman isn't gonna ok an overpay now and no free agent now is gonna be down to just the Marlins. Try again in February though.

You would never have enough pitching, why this team always think they have the pitching depth to acquire bats that's because they're too cheap to sign hitters (it looks like the hitters not willing to come here even they want to spend some ) so the trades would be the only way to improve the offense.

Nobody would take Soler or Avi so they wouldn't be selling low on either of them. Soler performed to his usual level last year anyway he was just injured for a huge chunk of the season. I assume Soler would become the DH in this scenario.

As for those two guys, conforto is decent and I wouldn’t mind it, but Reynolds would cost so much on the pitching/prospect side that I’m not convinced it moves the needle. It’s not like he’s the kind of guy who carries a team on his back.

Reynolds would be worth whatever it is they could give up for him. He's a legit top flight MLB bat and can play a critical position of need. There's a big reason why the Pirates aren't trading him.

At this point, sign Conforto and trade for Reynolds.

I'm sure they'll both come here and implode like every other bat we bring in.......but I almost don't even care if it'd be a bad signing at this point.  Just do something and pretend like you want to improve the team.

I think the problem isn't necessarily that players don't want to come here in a vacuum.  I think on their own, they'd be open to coming here.

BUT it seems that the FO has a plan for moves A, B, C, D, E (if they have a plan lol), but they don't do enough to get move A done.  You then have a domino effect in that move A didn't happen, which doesn't entice move B to happen/sign, so it falls through, same with move C, and by the time you get to move D or E, you have none of the ABC done, and compound that by the fact that we're seemingly still only offering equal deals to other teams, so the player sees that and figures "I'll go to this other more complete (or more storied, like Turner/Red Sox) team" for even money.

Whereas if they slightly overpay for Abreu, that move might entice Bellinger to sign here, which might in turn entice Turner to sign here.  But since they're only offering equal money with no other improvements thus far, guys stay away as they don't want to be the only one brought in.

Now maybe they wouldn't have had money for all 3 of those guys, but still the point stands of the first move sets the tone for the offseason, and we haven't even done that yet.

100%, but this team is better off acquiring 5 “good” players than one “really good” player so that the lineup isn’t a black hole with one bright spot. Remember they used to have Marte out there who is of a very similar ilk and it didn’t get the team anywhere.
