September 26, 20232 yr Our pitching depth issues are serious, but also most of the NL playoff-level teams have some starting pitching issues. Phillies and Brewers (except maybe Houser) actually go 5 deep of quality guys. Braves have 3 blanks on their probable SPs over the next 5 games. Dodgers SPs have been decimated by injury. Cubs are starting Jameson Taillon, Dbacks starting Zach Davies, and Reds starting Connor Phillips and making Greene start two of the last five games, despite being recently off the 60-day IL.

I'd be interested to see pitcher injury stats this year vs. previous years before the pitch clock was implemented. I wonder if pitching injuries are up?

Could this have something to do with the pitch clock speeding up the amount of time between deliveries and thus the body is having to actually work harder even though the number of pitches/innings is still comparable?

This was a worry for me at the start of the season - combined with the rules on disengaging too for pitchers. It has certainly made the game a LOT faster but I'm sure it's been very taxing on pitchers - especially starters
