  1. Geez that's a bucketload of money for a good player, but not a great SS like Tejada or Jeter. Dodgers need a power hitter more than anything else.
  2. How do you know they didn't talk about packaging them together? A few weeks ago, the Mets were confident they'd get either Molina or Hernandez, but now in that article it looks like it won't happen. The Mets wanted Delgado a few weeks ago, they didn't want to wait on that trade. The FO may be copping a lot of crap and perhaps for good reason, but like you said, he didn't just wake up today thinking he had to trade Lo Duca. There are other factors.
  3. Arizona offered Snyder and one of Bruney, Aquino or someone else. Mets Top 10 Prospects from BA for this year: 1. Lastings Milledge, of 2. Yusmeiro Petit, rhp 3. Gaby Hernandez, rhp 4. Mike Jacobs, c/1b 5. Philip Humber, rhp 6. Carlos Gomez, of 7. Fernando Martinez, of 8. Anderson Hernandez, ss/2b 9. Brian Bannister, rhp 10. Alay Soler, rhp Hernandez is said to be a great 2B of the future. Could replace Castillo.
  4. From Rotoworld: Paul Lo Duca - C - Marlins The Mets are involved in "very serious" discussions with the Marlins about acquiring Paul Lo Duca, a source told the New York Times. This after the Diamondbacks and Marlins were said to be close to a deal yesterday. We're guessing the Marlins would want a pitcher from the group of Aaron Heilman, Jae Seo and Brian Bannister along with either Anderson Hernandez or Jeff Keppinger in exchange for Lo Duca. Heilman is probably unavailable, but Seo could be in play. Dec. 3 - 11:15 pm et Source: New York Times If we got two of any of those players mentioned, I'd be happy. Well, not happy because I think we need Lo Duca, but if we got any of those two prospects at least it's better than what Arizona offered... especially Anderson Hernandez.
  5. Let's sue the Marlins and take away even more money from them, increasing the chance they'll need to relocate. Brilliant plan. /sarcasm
  6. http://fantasybaseball.rotoworld.com/conte...s.asp?sport=MLB Juan Pierre - OF - Marlins Contradicting yesterday's report, the New York Post says the Marlins are still insisting on Robinson Cano from the Yankees in a Juan Pierre deal. We didn't think Sean Henn and Scott Proctor alone would get it done. Newsday is also saying that the Marlins want Cano. The Yankees aren't enamored with Pierre and likely would only consider him at a bargain price, so a trade appears unlikely. Dec. 3 - 5:04 am et Source: New York Post Good. I'm glad we're not just giving him away. I would be so happy if we could get Cano, but if they're not willing to part with him, I hope we turn our attention to another team - we can't give him away for two average pitchers.
  7. Good grief. Not with Arizona. They don't have much to give up. I don't like Snyder, but I guess we'll have to take him, as well as Bruney and Cintron. I would be disappointed with anything less.
  8. I've always liked Bellhorn. Strikes out too much, but he has power potential.
  9. We don't need a different owner. We need a new stadium. Simple.
  10. Gotcha. Thanks for the explanation.
  11. Can someone please explain the Rule V draft to me? I like to pride myself on my baseball knowledge, but I'm very ignorant when it comes to the draft. Is this basically like a waiver system, where any team can claim certain prospects as long as they use them on the major league roster? If anyone could explain it, I'd much appreciate it.
  12. At the moment... CF - Pierre SS - Ramirez 3B - Cabrera RF - Hermida 1B - Jacobs C - Lo Duca LF - Willingham/Aguila/Conine? 2B - Andino/Wilson/Psomas/Free Agent Rotation: Willis, Vargas, Olsen, Johnson, Petit Bullpen: Bowyer, Resop, Messenger, Bump, Villone But we all know Lo Duca, Villone and Pierre will be traded so that will change.
  13. Grant Psomas? Scouts projected him to be a future 2B because of his defensive proficiencies. But could he change positions and make the leap to the majors all in the one off-season?
  14. Maybe if we trade Villone, Pierre and Lo Duca then we can make a run at Manny. Maybe that's our secret strategy. :lol
  15. It's useless trying to predict what will happen, because that's almost impossible. Here's what I'd LIKE to see happen. Villone/Pierre to Seattle for Reed Keep Lo Duca That would be all.
  16. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-m...ov=ap&type=lgns Gonzalez and Castillo had been together since 1998, longer than any other active double-play combination. Florida may swing a deal to acquire a replacement for Castillo, Beinfest said. "I would not rule out looking at a reasonable free agent or a trade to fill the second base spot," he said. They might be looking at acquiring another inexpensive 2B. I wouldn't give up hope just yet.
  17. That would be a FANTASTIC trade. I hope that goes through.
  18. Why the hell would we turn him down?!? That makes no freaking sense, that must be an unfounded rumor.
  19. But isn't it funny how whenever someone gets traded, the fans of that team automatically go ahead and bash that particular player? Like the entire Red Sox Nation have had a hard-on for HanRam for years, and as soon as he's been dealt it's like "Oh, he's got work ethic problems, he'll never make it". Same can be said for Mets fans with Petit. Fans can be so fickle sometimes.
  20. Who did we trade to the White Sox for him? I've completely forgotten. EDIT: Ha nevermind, I remembered it was Jeremy Reed who went to Seattle.
  21. He ain't ready.
  22. I don't know if I would prefer Petit or Milledge, but I have a feeling they'd never give up Milledge. IF Delgado had to be traded, even though many here would say we'd be stupid to do it with a division rival and while I agree to an extent, Petit is the best we could get for him IMO.
  23. LOL! Awesome stuff.
  24. Really sad to see Josh go... but damn I'm glad we went with the trade with Boston and not Texas.
