April 16, 20179 yr I am finally warming up to him, but I don't like how he abuses the phrase "to your point" and "to that point". Other than that, I am starting to like him. I wish his voice had more enthusiasm, but we can't always get what we want!
April 16, 20179 yr I don't get the "homer" part you guys are talking about. My wife and I find him to be incredibly boring so far, maybe a tiny step up from Conine in terms of blandness. Both of us enjoyed Eduardo the most by far last year as he at least showed some passion and would make jokes (and not have to fit himself into every story like Preston). So far we're hoping the Hollytime experiment will also crash and burn like their rotating group they used last year. He's just boring - have I mentioned that?

April 16, 20179 yr Leiter would have been great if he were around the team more. Because of the rotating analysts and his other commitments, I felt he didn't have a lot of details about the players, coaches etc. I don't know if those threads are still buried in this website somewhere, but I remember how much certain people disliked Rich after he replaced Len Kasper in 2004 if I recall. Now rich is beloved by most. Joe Angel is still my favorite moreso than even Dave O Brien. Mostly because of the phrase "and the Marlins are in the win column!!"

April 16, 20179 yr I think he's pretty good. He's no Hutton but a step up from what we had last year. Leiter would have been great if he were full time but it seems like MLB Network is more suited for him right now. I didn't like Eduardo Perez i always felt like he was trashing the team at times.
April 17, 20179 yr I realize now that rich has several catchphrase type calls that sound so good because they're not gimmicky like "back back back back gone!"... it's just certain things that he repeats in certain situations and they're not exactly the same every time but they're close enough that they have kinda become his catchphrases... I realized this Friday night watching the replay of the walk off win and as I'm watching it I said what rich was gonna say as he was saying it and it was the "Rojas around third....and....hes...gonna...SCORE!" Also I love when he ends a win with just BALLGAME
