avi seemed to earn his whole contract with that go ahead homerun in the 9th in st louis in 2022 on the day sandy got the complete game. i cant remember much else he did, except he walked in another game that year in the 9th i think and told tips to i think sanchez about the pitcher maybe the pitcher was tipping, and then sanchez hit a homer right after. he of course struggled here, but that homer in st louis led to sandys complete game win which was a major part of his cy young award.

What was the reason Turner wouldn't come here? Was it for a specific personal reason or just because he didn't want to go to what looked like a bad team? Maybe the season the Marlins just had would cause him to reconsider.

If I remember right our offer to him was competitive but he just chose Boston. Doesn't mean he can't still come here.

I think our offer may have even been for more than Boston.  Sure, I guess he could come here, but I don't see him choosing us over other, more desirable teams unless we're above and beyond the rest of the offers.

at the end of the day only time will tell. i have seen so many 'long term success' strategy only to break it down and a playoff run 5 years later just to break it down again for 'long term success'. i trust the new gm and i actually like him but at the end of the day the owners always tell these guys what to do.

i know i will be called crazy but now that soler is gone, if the yankees want to dump giancarlo and pay like half his salary and we can pick him up and pay maybe $10 million a year of the salary, i think hes worth a shot with brant brown. brant brown seems to get the most out of every hitter, i know we didnt score a lot of runs but we had a good average, most of the team set good years in their personal hitting averages. giancarlo seems very motivated to turn it around, i get the whole 'jogging' thing, but with some good trainers and brant brown i think we can bring him back and have another run. i know the injuries. we need a trainer/doctor who really knows his injuries so we can prevent them.

I really doubt the Yankees would be interested in doing that. He's always been injury prone. It isn't like it became a thing recently.

Sure in a hypothetical world where they'd pay that much, it'd be intriguing. But I don't see any way the Yanks would do that unless we sent some premium talent back to them.

As much as I love Stanton, he's pretty much just done at this point, unfortunately. All of the injuries have completely sapped him. His bat speed just isn't there anymore. Yeah he can still hit some home runs but that's basically all he does now. The Stanton from the second half of 2021 where he was arguably the best hitter on the planet again for a stretch is gone, and I don't think he's coming back this time.
