According to Stanton's MLE calculations, a good guy to compare him to this year would be Jose Bautista. Stanton's MLE says he's going to hit .255/.358/.560, 16 HR, 40 RBI. Right now, Bautista is hitting .254/.379/.614, 18 HR, 45 RBI. MLE isn't an exact science but it has a decent track record. Those numbers would be insanely good, IMO. OPS of .918. I'd take that in a heartbeat. So MLE says that's how he's going to hit the rest of the year? So we can expect 16 HR and 40 RBI going forward? The RBI totals seem a little low to me and would disappoint me, but I'll take everything else. Of course, RBI depends on how often he comes up with runners on base.

June 7, 201016 yr This series really puts a dagger on the call up excitement, at least for me... JUST WIN BALL GAMES! im glad to see that bonifacio is back and hope and hopefully he can wreak havoc. He'll have to get on base first, something I'm not convinced he'll be able to do at the ML level; her barely was in the minors.

June 7, 201016 yr Great move. I guess Lou was right - we'll have the four outfielders go at it. Nevertheless, I think it's obvious Coghlan is going to stay. Not sure what happens with Maybin. Good move bringing up RVH. Hope he becomes our 7th inning guy. Right. People here don't realize interleague is coming and they all are going to play. Maybin isn't going to be benched. June 25 may be a different story. I still maintain, I'd like Coghlan getting some time at 3B instead of Gaby all the time at 1B, thus opening up the outfield bit. This can work out if they are smart about it.
June 7, 201016 yr We all know that Stanton can't pitch the 7th, but RVH can, and its about time the Fo do the obvious with him and convert him to reliever, where he could be dominant especially if he could bring his old breaking ball back onto the table.
June 7, 201016 yr Why is he wearing 27? He should not be putting that much pressure on himself, trying to follow in the foot steps of future HOF'er Hermida is crazy. I'm going to be crushed if for what ever reason he turns out to be a bust. If Vandy can secure the 7th inning wed be set.

It's just that our downfall has been the bullpen and he doesn't help that.

Mike Stanton's power is not needed. And Cameron Maybin (who he will be replacing) has done a marvelous job. This is when I bring back.

In his first 2 full season in the majors Igor Gonzalez struckout 118 times in 142 games; 143 times in 155 games. I would hope Stanton does not strikeout more than that however I do also expect Stanton to walk much more than Gonzalez. if you look at the progression of Gonzalez as a hitter he reduced the K's significantly early in his career and his batting average climbed up very fast. I would expect the same to happen with Stanton

June 7, 201016 yr Lamb had a little power, Unfortunately, he never showed much of it here other than that 400' out to center in the perfect game. He'll probably turn up somewhere else down the road, he's not totally useless. So it goes. Must be a bitch to be a marginal player on the edge where the difference is being worth $430K on a MLB bench vs. 10% or less of that on any minor league roster. Or, worse, asking someone whether they'd like fries with that if you're out of the game with no other skills. MLB thrives because it exemplifies the American dream. Talent is rewarded. Great talent is rewarded greatly. You can be a 20 year-old immigrant (Miggy) with great baseball (and little, if any other) talent and 5 years later sign a $200 million contract. Stanton is probably our next example. Marginal guys like Lamb got paid pretty well along the way. I wish him well, whatever he does next.

June 7, 201016 yr Hate that we sent down Carroll instead of Maybin. He should still be getting every day PT. Other than that, :clapping. Strasburg and Stanton to debut on the same night. That's going to be one of the biggest nights for prospects in quite a while. I'm not trying to start a feud here, but can someone explain to me the massive love for BC on this forum? I understand he is an above average defender, but he has never really been much of hitter. I don't see how keeping BC and demoting Cameron Maybin would be a beneficial move for a team. Maybe I'm missing something.
