  1. Oh my god, enough with this. What are they supposed to do? They needed a catcher. Needed. Buck satisfies that issue. We had 1 legitimate catcher. Now we have 2. Problem solved. Stop the bickering. They could've just gone with... whatever was down in th eminors. Which is nothing. I'm not bickering. This is a message board, you post articles and news from around the media. But now I'm bickering, I guarantee you Buck will be a disappointment here. But this in your sig if you want. It's not just you, nor was I directing that solely at you. Everybody seems to want to complain about it. Answer me though. What were they supposed to do given the situation? Be realistic. There were plenty of other options. There were some catchers on the market they could have gotten for cheaper. I'm not going to sit here and say they were backed into a corner to sign a 30 year old coming off a flukey season to a long term deal around 6 million a season. His power was the ONLY thing he had going for him. Getting older as a catcher and moving into this division and this stadium, there's no way he matches that production. This is one of not the worst signing in Marlins history in my opinion, and i think it deserves some "bickering" over. Hater in the house. Did the Marlins overpay for Buck? No question. However, every team in the league overpays for players, and any sign that the Marlins are gradually becoming a normal team is overly welcomed by me. At the end of the day its $5 million/year, money that normal MLB teams wipe their a$$ with.
  2. Don't we need a LHP in the rotation??
  3. A remarkable amount of talent has passed through this organization in its relatively short existence
  4. OMG!!! NO!!!!! Now that Cody and Uggla are gone, who can we depend on to lose their bats in the stands or finish their swing on one knee?????!!!!???!?!?!?!?
  5. To be honest, we have may just sold high on Dan Uggla. The return is not ideal, but it probably wasn't in this team's best interest to give a 30-year old a five-year contract. Uggla brings power from a position where it is a luxury, so losing his home run ability is not earth shattering to this teams offense. SOLD HIGH? THE GUY HAS HIT 30+ FOR FOUR YEARS STRAIGHT! AND IF IT'S A LUXURY, WHY SETTLE ON TRADING HIM FOR ABSOLUTE sh*t?! :banghead :banghead :banghead Remember that a year ago, Beinfest & Co. tried HARD to unload Uggla at the winter meetings, but there were no offers even worth considering. What makes anyone think that another team would make a "blown away" this time around? Honestly, Dan Uggla is not worth 4/$48 mil. Outside of his power, his career numbers have not been above average.

  7. I don't think this trade is as bad as some of you are making it out to be. OUR BULLPEN IS GOING TO BE INSANELY BETTER!!!! Our hitting will take a hit, but Infante brings qualities to the table that Dan Uggla doesn't in terms of versatility. Unfortunately this is a long process, but I can see the light!
  8. Another great Cody Ross moment...walking off against Cordero and Reds http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?mid=200806072866154&c_id=fla
  9. They're screwed in that division unless they spend 200 million dollars like the Yankees.and Red Sox. Thank god the Marlins weren't put in the AL. The Rays have proved you can compete in the AL East with a low pay roll. Why are the Rays even good? I still don't get it. The Rays are good because they have good players. It's not that difficult to understand. Their players are good, but no where near as good as the Yankees, and their records are similar.

  11. I love Mike Stanton, but I've seen him juggle/mishandle a few too many balls hit his way this season. I'm sure he will end up as a solid RF'er, but if he's the greatest player we have on defense, we're screwed.
  12. Lesson of this topic.....think twice before paying to attend tuesday's game.

  14. What sucks is Edwin don't even remember his last name just left JJ out there until he gave up the big hit. The idea is to pull him BEFORE he gives it up.
  15. at least he seems better than Tank's Not really. I don't know why people hate Tankersley around here. lol
  16. Wow this is just downright RUDE.... "Because as Walkoff Walk's Drew Fairservice so astutely points out, "the Marlins have offended us all with the vast sea of (empty) orange seats for years, what makes these shoes so different?" Answer: These are a lot more fun for fans to look at." http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/Marlins-moan-about-Brian-Wilson-s-mesmerizing-or?urn=mlb-258814
  17. For all those who do not like "LoMo" as a nickname, got this from Morrison's twitter page.....Morrison shirts
  18. This is awesome news that Logan has been brought up. For a team that has such a tendency to strike out, his approach and OBP (.427) will do wonders. To think, LoMo has walked more times than he has struck out this season (48 BBs to 35 SOs). Also....hopefully 1) CC will be back as soon as possible 2) Cantu will be traded as soon as possible
  19. link???? hahaha just kidding
  20. Maybe Jose Ceda will be brought up to help the bullpen before the end of the season. Stats from AA Jacksonville in 11 appearances - 17 IP 2 R (2 ER)...1.06 ERA 9 Hits 8 BB 26 SO Average Against = .167 Small sample size, but I think we all agree this guy has PLUS potential and may be ready sooner than later.
  21. Can this season be saved ? Instead of a trade I'm thinking troll excommunication is more in order. :brigginbounce Why NOT trade Uggla, Cantu, Ross. All three WILL be moved in the offseason regardless.
  22. I know this qualifies as knee-jerk lololol, BUT, thanks for leaving Badenhop in for a THIRD inning Fredi.
