December 6, 201114 yr I would take Miggy over Albert. The new and improved Marlins would take Miggy AND Albert.
December 6, 201114 yr HanleyRamirez Hanley Ramirez Everybody it's waiting to see what's gonna happen with me or what I gonna do right? he sure is blunt about it Well since he is with Miggy he obviously wants to be traded to Det.
December 6, 201114 yr What I am gonna do is work hard and get ready for next season because that is the only thing I can control I love y'all!!!! Edit: Hanley said that, not me. I hate you all.

December 6, 201114 yr And I highly doubt they would sign Reyes without getting a definite answer from Hanley on whether he would switch positions. It makes no sense. Unless as I said the other day, they intend on moving Hanley all along or if he gives them a problem he's outta here. I think he's burned too many bridges and Loria wants this thing to work smoothly and wants no problem children. Hanley is the one who can give them the most headaches, and he also can give them the biggest return too - that is if they can get good enough compensation for him. That also could be a problem because his rep will unfortunately proceed him.
December 6, 201114 yr This has become so confusing. When the FO was going after Reyes it was coming across as Hanley was all for it and they were good buddies, etc. Hanley would do anything to help the team win, etc. Now once he's signed he's supposeably bitching? This makes no sense. So what the hell is it? One, If he told management he was ok with it and now he isn't we've got problems. Trade his ass. Two, there isn't a problem and the media is fabricating it. WTF? Really? For what purpose? I see this as trying to just make sh*t up. Call the liars out. Three, if Hanley was so great at SS then why in the hell would they even pick up Reyes? Maybe they are tired of Hanley and have another plan? Maybe the writing is on the wall? He obviously couldn't take being the leader of the team. He has admitted that. Is this just a move to begin the improvement of increasing his trading value at season's end? Or a safety blanket if he gets hurt? Oh boy the wrath of Squall will be upon you for this post......
December 6, 201114 yr I wonder what the town elders think of Hanley's reluctance to move to third base. I expect apologies, but I know I won't get them....
December 6, 201114 yr Distraught? What is he freaking out about moving positions or is he mad about it? I can easily see him not happy and mad about moving positions though. I am sure his ego has taken a little bit of a hit. Really what player wouldn't be upset with being told yeah we got a guy we think is better so move, very few imo. Hopefully he doesn't make this a fiasco. I called this the other day, and got phucked over by the board. If it turns out to be true, then I expect apologies. None of which I know I'll get......but right now I am getting quite a bit of satisfaction in knowing I was right, and had read Hanley correctly. Experience pays off sometimes.

You do realize it's December, right? There's still a LOT of time in which Hanley can say "OK, I realize this will be better for the team, so I will move to third." I expect this to happen, especially with enough conversations between him and management, as well as if Pujols signs and chats with him. Remember, Pujols bounced around a bit to start his career before becoming a full-time first baseman, he knows how it feels to transition.

You've kinda been wrong all offseason, so whatever. Remember? If the Marlins don't sign Reyes..."same old Marlins" blah, blah, blah. How'd that work out for you? Still believe this is all marketing?
December 6, 201114 yr Juan C. Rodriguez Ozzie: Hanley has less to think about at 3B, joked doesn't have to worry about chasing balls, kicking them into OF. #marlins :lol

December 6, 201114 yr very good read - really gets me excited about ozzie a bit i think he'll have a lot of credibility, as a WS winning manager, as a long time player and as "someone from the culture" i like his approach about how it will make hanley better and will allow hanley to do more in what he values - basically, do you want to win batting titles, MVPs and be an all star every year ... or do you want to play SS with some scrub next to you where you beat up your body, have people question your defense, etc show up, be a professional, focus on winning and the rest will take care of itself .... relax and let it happen
December 6, 201114 yr Fangraphs: Hanley Ramirez Not Likely To Excel At Third Base http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/hanley-ramirez-not-likely-to-excel-at-third-base/ summary: his defense stunk at short and it should stink even worse at third.
