It actually started when Bud Selig allowed the Marlins to be used as a pawn along with the Montreal Expos to make other owners insane amounts of money.

Yeah I think it's a little different when it comes to players. Improving the roster is beyond their control, whereas that is specifically Ng's job. Sandy saying it is just him being a good soldier. Ng saying it just sounds delusional.

No, because Ng continues to insist luck was the primary reason we lost last year, ignoring an incomplete roster and checked-out manager.

Plus, as someone else said, he's not in a position to upgrade the roster.

Yes, and he should get an injury option I believe? So there is 0 reason to get rid of him if he can be stashed in AAA and see if he ever gets healthy.

For their anticipated payroll, hard pass. If they are going to spend $125m, sure he can be a luxury upgrade over Cooper. A lot of risk in age and had a .350 BABIP last year. He's projected 1 win better than Cooper. You probably get 2019/2021 sort of production. I think there are better ways to spend $14-15m extra over Cooper, ignoring you probably have to sign him next year too.
