Well, that’s a good attitude to have! Sometimes we have to accept the things we cannot change, especially things we have no control over. Better for having peace of mind. I’ve already accepted that the Marlins might not make the playoffs for the next 4-5 years. I’ll still tune in and watch though. Because I’m a Marlins fan, and that’s what Marlins fans do. Watch and hope they will have a good season but deep down inside know that we probably won’t. 😂

I'm not going to blame Ng for this. She works for ownership, and if they are not giving her more money to spend, or players don't want to come here, that's out of her control

I am getting concerned about the farm system though. Max Meyer's going to miss all of 2023, Jake Eder is going to miss a chunk of this year, who knows if Sixto is ever going to pitch much again, etc. Say what you will about Loria's regime, they did a very good job developing talent.

All seriousness now ... Is Eder missing time this year? He missed all of '22 and the surgery in '21, shouldn't he be set by Spring Training? And even if Sixto is out for ... ever ... we should be able to work without him.

Well, to be fair, he didn’t say that he would be the future Marlins GM, just a future GM.

You can be a GM of a lot of things, a hospital, a store, car dealership, a restaurant..

Yeah the timetable for him right now is a 2023 return. Of course, that’ll be in the minors (probably A-Ball to loosen him up followed by a prompt call up to AA assuming he comes back anywhere near as dominant as he was in ‘21) but depending how he develops he could possibly be a late season call up by I HIGHLY doubt it

We all know moves would happen eventually but it's really hard to wait for a long time.

Just read an article that claims the the Mets have spent as much this off-season as the Marlins have in the entire history of the franchise. Not sure if that's right but it would be yet another hilarious statistic

I can believe it. The Stanton contract shouldn't really count for the fish since they didn't actually end up paying most of it. And outside of that, there haven't been any massive contracts.
