enterthemadness
Late January is the plan for the sod. I see still no naming rights...guess Stadium is Marlins Park.
SC_Marlins_Fan
I'm guessing that there won't be a ballpark sponsor by Opening Day. (79 days, 9 hrs, 36 min, 50 sec @ time of this post) I think Universal should buy in to it... after all... they did film Field of Dreams. If you build it... The_Punisher
I sure hope it happens before opening day
PhxPhin
Not the end of the world if it doesn't happen before opening day ...... these contracts are lengthy and it's most important to get the best long term deal and sponsors are probably a little hesitant to put up bit money to attach their name when the last home seemed to flop names every other year, attendance has been historically poor and there is still questions about the direction/national attention of the franchise I'm a seahawks fan and it didn't hurt them at all to open the stadium as "Seahawks Stadium" and then cash in down the line
Admin
Yeah, I'd say it's almost certain to open as "Marlins Park" or "Marlins Ballpark" and then get changed when a deal is worked out.
Dr Beinfest
Marlins Squallpark, sources say.

AeroFishOne
That's pretty lame if true What's lame about it? I would have preferred Marlins Ballpark, but not a big deal if no real sponser will be named this year. We don't know the reason for the Marlins backing out of te name deal the was close. Dr Beinfest
Well it is kind of lacking a syllable. But no, not a big deal.

Henry Jones
They could go the Canadian route and call it Park Marlins, which just makes it sound like a place to leave your fish you use for transportation.
Dr Beinfest
That'd be... Parque du Marlines
enterthemadness
That'd be... Parque du Marlines Loria should do it for giggles. Giggles. Cuase after this season it doesn't matter...I imagine a sponser will come in and the park will be Pepsi, Twiiter, Facebook, Coke, Food Lion, etc Park.
