The Official Giancarlo Stanton Man Crush Thread

Pierz just looks wrong in a Cards uniform.

He only looks right with his hands on Michael Barrett's face.

This is his right uniform, so I can fully hate him properly.

Because its a situation they shouldnt be in at all.

The fact that there are a plethora of teams operating in similar, or even worse, financial constraints than the Marlins and doing it successfully by buying out arbitration and free agent years(including the Rays, just a few hundred miles away), and they just outright refuse to even consider doing it is nothing short of maddening.

I understand not signing him before now. He hasn't completed a healthy year before this one and while he had prolific power we couldn't afford to pay him like an elite player for him to turn out to be injury prone or only show power like an Adam Dunn guy.

I dont understand the pessimism around Stanton, I think he will get re-signed to a huge deal before he becomes a free agent. They won't let him go.

I would love it if Bud Selig's last action as commissioner was to use his "For the good of the game" clause to force Loria to sell. You know none of the other owners, fans, or players union would object...hell, they would be in full support.

Do one good thing Bud, to make up for what otherwise is one of the worst tenures as a major sports commissioner ever.

Do you have to exaggerate every statement?

Monster Valuable Player doesn't really make sense.

Most Valuable Monster, however ...

Shut up.

It makes sense.

To win MVP, Giancarlo needs the Marlins to make a legitimate playoff run. With the DLs to McCutchen, Goldschmidt, and Tulowitzki, Stanton is in good position to emerge as the positional favorite and maintain status until the end of the season. If however, Kershaw continues to dominate, he will be tough to beat out for the MVP. The only way I see Stanton having real chance of winning the MVP is if the Marlins somehow make the playoffs.

Most people already have Kershaw atop their list for NL MVP, because many assume Stanton will not have the necessary team success to make a overwhemingly strong case.

It is what it is.

Stanton second in MLB in WAR only to Trout as of today.

rWAR he's 2nd, fWAR he's fifth

Pretty soon we can all remember when the marlins let two of the best hitters in baseball go.

No need to let go of solano in the offseason.

Donovan "Carlton Fisk" Solano?

I dont even know what the vendetta with him was to begin with. Solid utility man. The only time i was ever really mad with him was that reed johnson play in st. Louis.

Because he is awful?

You should change your name to the " WAR buster"
